As many of you may already know, there are lots of sites out there that give reviews or comparsions of dropship companies. If you done any research yourself on dropshipping companies, you probably came accross them at one point or another. The question here is are they worth a read.

First lets remember that these review sites are out there for their own interest. Many are have afflitiate links to those dropshippers and make a commission on every sale that are directed to their site.

One of the most popular review sites is www.dropship-review.com. Its provides you with considerable amount of information on 6 legit dropshippers(5 not including NetDropshipper).
Many people will look to this professional looking site for guidance and research. But what many people don’t know is that this site is run by as a seperate business by Doba. And as surprising as it may seem, Doba seems to have a pretty good review there. Although, they state that they will try to be unbias, its still important to keep that information in mind.

Other review sites tend to glorify dropshipping companies to persuade readers. After all they they get a percentage of the sale. I am not saying all review sites do this, but many do. There will be review sites that try not to be bias at all but they will still be opinions.

In the end, I believe that dropship review sites are still worth a read as they do contain a lot of fact. All I am saying is, it is important to keep in mind that some review sites may tend to be bias.

One of the main challenges of having a sucessful dropship business is Marketing your site. Many people are always constantly looking for new ways to market their site. This is why i decided to build this list, to give you people ideas on ways to market your site that you may not have considered or to just remind you the alternatives that may be availible to you.
Its a good idea for any dropshippers, experienced or not to run down this list and see if you have considered these as a possibility to bring more traffic to your site.

1.)PPC(Pay per Click)

Pay Per Click programs such as google adwords can be a great way to increase traffic in the short-run. But becareful on your spending, you can easily go over budget. It is important to monitor the conversion rate to make sure that the cost is worth the result. PPC is a not a simple task and for it to be effective it takes lots of time and research into keywords and writing up ads that target your audience and also attractive.

2.)SEO(Search Engine Optimatization)

SEO is one of the best if not the best way to build traffic to your site in the long-run. It is not simple and requires lots of research and work in many aspect, to be successful in SEO.

3.)Tell Friends and Family

This is an free and easy way to bring a few more vistors to your site. Print business cards to pass them out, have your site as your email signature, or simply tell your friends and family verbally.

4.)Forum

Forum is also a good way to promote your site. A active forum poster can actually rent his signature space for money. Its also a free alternative to consider.

5.)Blog

Start your own blog. This is can help keep your vistors updated and more involved with your site, making them loyal customers. Blog can also help your site’s SEO a little if you link it to your site.

6.)Get Custom products to advertise your Website.

You can do this by going to CustomDropshipper.com or other simliar sites to buy custom T-shirts, Mousepads, Postcards and many other unique items for your business

7.)Rent Advertising space

You can also rent advertising space sites from other active sites. Some sites, forums, blogs will rent their space(ie, banner, links) for money. Its a good idea to look for a site with lots of traffic and also the same audience as your targeted market.

8.)Coupons

Create coupons if your dropshipper allows these functions. Coupon can provides an impulse incentive for buyers to buy more or make their first purchase.

9.)Link Exchange

Exchanging links with other sites that have related products can benefit both you and your link exchanger. For example if you sold only music alblums its a very good idea to do a link exchange with another site that sells cd players and accessories.

10.)Myspace.com or Facebook.com

Total these socially networks can potentially be a very good way to drive traffic. For example you can create groups on facebook easily devoted to your site and ask your friends to join.

For today, i am just going to comment on the dropshipper called Dropship Design. If you been a long time dropshipper, then you probably already heard what they are like, so you probably don’t need to read this. But for all those people that are thinking about dropshipping, listen in. Dropship Design maybe be one of those dropshippers that catches your eyes, when you are first introduced to them, I know I was. Maybe this is because of their seemly vast amounts of preloaded products, or their cheap subscription fee.
You pretty much just pay them for the membership fee and there you got your site with domain fully loaded with thousands of products.

Seems pretty good doesn’t it?

Well, first of all the site that you get is not really customizable, and their so called not marked up wholesale products, are marked up. I can’t confirm that but they are either marked up or they just don’t have good prices. There’s also a lot of talk about Dropship Design’s support or reliablilty being not so good. You can see a lot of complains on Rip-off Reports by unsatisfied users.
Then, again i shouldn’t complain that much, since they don’t really charge that much. Their renewal after your first year is only $49.99. Anyways, i’ll just finish off saying that if you thinking about seriously making money with dropshipping Dropship Design is not a good choice, but if you just wanted to get your feet wet with E-Commerce, you can take into consideration Dropship Design .

Shopster a turnkey online business with 900,000 items for you to pick from to dropship. Membership 99.99/set up fee + 29.99/per month or 329.99/per yr and free set up fee.

First of all, I want to say that Shopster is a company that improves itself. When i first joined Shopster only had 700,000 products availiable, shipping cost was high, product pricing was high (some higher than retail). Since, then they have mange to drop down on the shipping price and average product pricing through out the store.

Although, I myself had given up on shopster very early back when the prices were just pretty much unsellable, I was able to witness some of the changes that happen with shopster through
the year ,since i had a membership for a year.
Even though i have seen the improvements throughout the year, i’m still under the belief that shopster is no huge money making opportunity for you to be rich, or at least not yet.
At first site Shopster would seem like a get rich opportunity where you could potentially just work full time at home with, but looks can be decieving.

I have 2 main problems with shopster. First being Product pricing and second being reliablity.
Even though i have said Shopster prices have improved, I don’t think its enough since i still see products with prices too high for to make a decent profit. As a businessman you have to keep your cost in mind, and to cover you cost with shopster prices is hard enough let alone make a decent profit. The second issue with reliability i have seen is that products would go out of stock or be discontinued. There’s notthing more annoying than to see your dvds that you listed becoming discontinued, or when sold discovered that it was out of stock. According to the things i seen, this currenly happens 1/3 of the time. Meaning for every 3 items you mange to sell 1 will probably be out of stock meaning the order would be cancelled. This is why I also believe, Shopster is not viable on Ebay.

Too many times i seen people with domain names they don’t use, which they just leave there doing notthing. If you bought the domain name, even if it was a mistake put it to use somehow. You should either use as a forward mask and redirected to another one of your sites or cash park it for money. For the people who don’t know what cash parking or domain parking is, basically its a a site filled with targeted ads.

Theres lots of companies do cash parking such as Sedo, Revenue Direct, or Parking Panel. Basically, if someone clicks on an ads, you will get a portion of the commission. This is going to be just a short post to don’t leave their domains laying around doing notthing, theres more to cash parking than this. In fact some people can make a lot of money just by parking domain names.

There has been this growing belief that dropshipping on Ebay is not good idea. The main problem with dropshipping on ebay is to do with the handling of the good. Sometimes dropshippers will run out of stock or suddenly discontinue an idea. If this occured and you sold an item on Ebay, this is where the headache comes. You will need to contact the buyer tell him your out of stock, refund his money and withdraw from the transaction. On top of that you will lose the money from the Ebay listing fee. This is why most would rather have the inventory on hand when selling on Ebay.

This is true in many cases with dropshippers but dropshipping on Ebay is still very viable in my books. You just need to look for a reliable dropshipper and from my experience they are around, you just have to do your research.

Dropshipping today is a growing business today, and has becoming a very viable way for people to start making money online with a very little start up cost.

For the newbies out there, how dropshipping works is basically you work basically you sell the item and the supplier(dropshipper) you work with ships the item to your customer. Basically you will be selling the product without even having seen it. The great thing about dropshipping is that you won’t have to carry any inventory. The key thing about dropshipping is to find a reliable and good dropshipper. One main problem with dropshipping that you always hear about is the dropshipper constantly running out of stock, or having items being discontinued. This is why some people may rather handle the inventory themselves and stay away from dropshippers. There are however lots of reliable dropshippers out there, you just got to do your research.

Personally, I find dropshipping a low risk and great way to start up a business and highly recommend it those online entreprenuer out there.
