It’s been a while since I made a post, but here it is. The intention of this post is give some clarity to misleading notions of dropshipping and point out an importance characteristic that will help you succeed with dropshipping or any E-Commerce business for that matter. This characteristic of course is persistence.
Why is persistence so important? As an online business you have a virtual store front, your website and also a virtual address, your domain name. Unlike a brick and mortar store, you’re not going to get any significant amount of walk-in traffic. You can not expect to get a lot of traffic right off the bat. Domains with significant amount type-in traffic are extremely rare.
In the long-run, the best way to get consistent traffic to your website, is to have good SEO(Search Engine Optimization) practices. That however will take time and effort. It takes time to creating rich content, build backlinks and grow a customer base; and sometimes a lot of it. Most inexperience dropshippers don’t realize this and sometimes I just think they live in their own fantasy world where traffic is suppose to just come out of no where. Unless your planning to spend a lot of money on advertising, you are not going to get any sort of large amount instant traffic.
Not trying to pour cold water on your dreams, in fact quite the opposite. To put it another way, if your not having success right away, don’t be too worried because it’s usually like that. Instead keep working on your business to make it better and continue to market it with creative ideas. Sometimes it is right to call it quits, but too many people quit too early when success may have just been around the corner.
