Shopster a turnkey dropshipper that offers 900,000 items available for dropshipping. Membership cost $99.99/set-up fee + $29.99/per month or $329.99/per yr (set-up is free for annual subscriptions).
First of all, I want to say that Shopster is a company that continuously improves itself. When i first joined Shopster they only had 700,000 products availiable, shipping cost was high, and product were expensive (some higher than retail). Since then they have mange to reduce their shipping cost and average product prices.
Although I have already given up with Shopster, I witness a lot of the changes throughout the year when I was with them. Despite the improvements, I am still under the belief that it’s extremely difficult to make money with Shopster. At first, Shopster may seem like a opportunity to make a living working from home, but looks can be decieving.
I have 2 main problems with Shopster. First being the product pricing and the second relates to their inventory management. Even though I had said Shopster’s prices has improved, I just don’t think its enough. Most product prices are still too high for you to make a decent profit. The unreality of their inventory is also a huge pain, products are frequently discontinued or go out of stock. There’s notthing more annoying than to see your listed dvds discontinued, or discover that they’re out of stock just after you made the sale. According to my observations, this happens 1/3 of the time. Meaning for every 3 items you mange to sell 1 will probably be out of stock and cancellation of the order would be required. This is why I strongly advise against selling on Ebay with Shopster, unless you like getting negative feedbacks.
Shopster is not all bad though. For one they give you a website fully loaded with shopping cart and everything you need to start selling online. The websites are also very customizable. On top of that they got great support and a pretty cool forum community for you to learn and interact with other members.
Putting it all together, I’m not saying that you can’t make profit with Shopster. What I am saying though, is that it’s not going to be as easy as they market it to be. If you decide to go try Shopster, I highly recommend you research the products you want to sell first before going on to build your RShop. This is important because they do have some items with decent prices but a lot of horrible product pricing as well.
Overall, as mentioned I still I don’t believe that you can make a living with Shopster. Most people would probably end up making a loss, but Shopster can be a great learning experience if anything.
